A small town girl with big city experience, Leah spent her first years on Vancouver Island then most of her working life in the Lower Mainland. From her 10 years working with pregnant women in poverty and addiction on the Downtown Eastside to Wellness Consulting with Corporations, nutrition health promotion in the media, a Community Dietitian for Fraser Health, Eldercare at Peace Arch Hospital, and 7 years heading the Clinical Smoking Cessation Program for Vancouver Coastal Health Hospitals and facilities, Leah has dedicated her life to the well being of the citizens of BC.
An award winning health professional; a dynamic speaker with a wealth of diverse work experience; Leah brings her intellect, listening skills, creativity and engaging nature into play when seeking successful outcomes particularly for those in need. She succeeds because she genuinely cares.
A catalyst and a change-maker, Leah gets projects done properly, on time, and on budget. She rarely backs down from challenges and has a solid reputation for being a big picture thinker and finding workable solutions to complex situations.
Leah is also a woman of faith and principles.
“I feel called to run for office at this time because BC needs strong people
to not only be good shepherds of the land and economy but to stand up and fight
for the best interests of all its citizens.”
Good government, political freedom and a healthy environment doesn’t happen by accident,
it takes courageous people committed to sound principles.
People want honest, transparent government that manages our money wisely
and is not beholden to big business.
Leah lives with her husband and daughter in Comox. They love it here and are never leaving! They have a passion for helping others and volunteer at many places including the soup kitchen and Celebrate Recovery (a local addiction recovery program).
They are avid outdoor people, mountain bikers, skiers and hikers who are keenly interested in a win-win balance between industry, tourism, and ecological concerns as well as local farm and food sustainability. Their house is full of music, joy and singing. When not busy with all of the above, Leah can be found in the garden planting things…
“I love the Comox Valley and want to serve its people. I will fight for your needs with courage, compassion and commitment; with an emphasis on tourism, jobs, food security, seniors concerns and the needs of our youth and future generations”.
Vote for Leah on May 9th.
She is the Right Choice – Right Now for Comox Valley.
