Dear Friends, Family, Supporters…
I want to thank you for all your love, support, time, and prayers.
It has been an incredible few months, I have learned so much, I have grown so much, and this morning as I wake up I know the world is not the same. Incredibly the whole province and the fate of the government hangs in the balance in our little riding…with the NDP beating out the Liberals by a scant 9 votes. Right now the Liberals have a minority government with the Greens holding the balance of power… that could change when they do a recount of current ballots, there are likely also substantial absentee ballots still to come over the next two weeks. If the Liberals win this riding in the end they will have a majority government – again, we won’t know for another 2 weeks.
Did we make a difference? I think so! So many people have come forward and thanked me for running, so many people have poured out their hearts to me, so many people have expressed hope for a better kind of government in this province – one that is based on accountability, transparency, and integrity. One that is focused on the benefit of all British Columbians.
I look forward to that coming to pass one day – and sooner is better than later!
So thank you for believing in me. Thank you for walking this journey with me, it has been incredible. Yes, we didn’t get the results we hoped for, but I don’t for a minute believe it was wasted effort, time, or money. The voice of hope, your voice, has definitely been heard!
I’ve made some wonderful new friends along the way too, thank you for that too!
What’s next you ask? I will be catching up in my garden, spending as much time as possible with my long-suffering family, taking a few deep breaths, and discerning what the future holds.
Bless you all!
I wish you all the best for 2017 and beyond.
